EMERGENCY FOOD &amp; NUTRITION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The I.P.N. strongly recommends that every home must have an emergency food and water supply that can provide all of the occupants with a <strong>minimum<\/strong> of <strong><em>two weeks<\/em><\/strong> of <strong>water and food.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We would prefer a month, however we understand that in our shaky economy many people don&#8217;t have the resources to purchase a months worth of supplies.\u00a0 <em>Two weeks<\/em> is better than <em>one<\/em>, or <em>none.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to add that an emergency food supply is great to have during an economic crisis.\u00a0 When money isn&#8217;t available to purchase food, it is wise to have emergency food stored away.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>When choosing emergency food, you must consider the following factors:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>1. Nutritional Value<\/strong>.\u00a0 During disasters, your body is subjected to high levels of stress.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong> The food that you eat during this difficult period must be very nutritious and, provide your body with the extra energy it needs to perform the many strenuous tasks that disasters and emergencies almost always manifest.\u00a0<em> Good health is by far, your most indispensable commodity &#8212; and, is the foundation that your entire life rests upon during turbulent times.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Shelf life<\/strong> &#8211; You must know how long your food can be stored.\u00a0 You must also consider what the ideal temperature and location for storage is along with the durability of the package it is contained in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Taste<\/strong> &#8211; Your storage food should be of a type that you enjoy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>When consumed in large quantities, the processed soy has less attractive effects.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It contains enzyme inhibitors that can block the absorption of protein and stunt growth.\u00a0 It also contains a protein called<a href=\"http:\/\/medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com\/hemagglutinin\"> hemagglutinin<\/a> that interferes with the red blood cells absorption and distribution of oxygen throughout the body.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This is why Soy milk\u00a0 should only be used sparingly by babies and growing children.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In their case, the drawbacks can outweigh the health benefits.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Remember, the traditional Japanese diet is much different that the western diet and so is the soy that they eat.\u00a0\u00a0 The major component of most of the western products is Soy protein isolate.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The form of Soy that is consumed in Japan is a natural and fermented type.\u00a0\u00a0 This is the process that neutralizes the hemagglutinin and other harmful substances.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> This is why you should:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Moderate your processed soy intake!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Always purchase the products with the least amount of chemical additives.\u00a0 They should also be made from organic ingrediants. It might cost a bit more, but the extra health benefits make up for the added expense.<\/p>\n<p>Try to learn how to cook the traditional meals of Japan, India and other cultures that include soy protein in their diets.<\/p>\n<p>Taking these simple bits of advice can help you to draw the best benefits from a diet that includes meat substitutes.
